A positive mindset sets you up for success. When you truly believe you can achieve the vision you have for yourself, it will happen. But first, you have to be able to see the moments and opportunities to live your best life now.
These 3 prompts will help you to build a positive mindset and get you excited about the here and now.
Prompt 1: What are you grateful for, and why?
When you list what you’re grateful for this moment, you start to appreciate a sampling of your ideal life now, or maybe even things you haven’t considered.
I have my kids list out 3 things they were grateful for today before going to bed each night. When I have days where I feel I haven’t really connected with them as much, it’s a great way to bring us all into alignment and check in. Now that the kids like to prolong their bedtime routine they hold me accountable to sharing out my list, too. It’s a win-win.
Prompt 2: What does your perfect day look like?
Everyone’s will be different, and to me this is such an interesting thing. For this prompt, think about what an ideal day in your life could look like if everything went according to plan. Then write it down.
Extra credit: Can you get something you had written down to become a reality this week?
Prompt 3: What’s it like to be extremely present?
Pick a day to move slower, stop multitasking, and really be present in the conversations you’re having or the task you’re doing. See if you can be on your devices less, and drink some tea or read a book. Do something relaxing. Go outside, smell the roses, and observe how the air feels on your skin, what smells are in the air.
At the end of the day, write what you noticed about approaching your life this way. Did your mood shift? Is it something you’ll try again?
When you take the time to journal and reflect, you uncover more of who you are without any external pressures to preform or be less authentic.
So, do you feel like you’re getting glimpses of your best life now? Maybe it’s not so unattainable after all, right?
